Role Overview
As a Junior Software Developer, you will work as part of the core engineering team developing backend, systems, and security-focused software that operates in IT and OT environments.
This role is ideal for developers who want to grow into IT and OT cybersecurity and systems engineers, working close to Linux, networks, protocols, and real production infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop backend and system-level components for security-focused platforms
- Assist in building:
- Network-aware services
- Data ingestion and processing pipelines
- Internal automation and tooling
- Work with traffic-derived data from enterprise and industrial networks
- Write secure, efficient, and maintainable code
- Debug and troubleshoot issues across:
- Application code
- Linux OS
- Network behavior
- Participate in:
- Design discussions
- Code reviews
- Testing and validation
- Maintain technical documentation and implementation notes
Required Technical Skills
- Proficiency in at least one of:
- Python
- Go
- Rust
- C / C++
- Strong understanding of:
- Data Structures & Algorithms
- Operating System fundamentals
- Working knowledge of:
- Linux / Unix environments
- Networking basics (TCP/IP, ports, routing)
- Familiarity with:
- Git
- Shell scripting
- Docker (basic usage)
OT & Cybersecurity Awareness (Expected to Learn / Grow Into)
- Basics of:
- Industrial vs enterprise networks
- Passive monitoring concepts (non-intrusive systems)
- Understanding differences between:
- IT security vs OT security
- Availability & safety vs performance
- Secure coding practices for long-running and high-reliability systems
Good to Have
- Exposure to:
- Cybersecurity fundamentals (IDS/IPS, secure coding)
- Network analysis tools (tcpdump, Wireshark)
- Experience with:
- Python data libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Polars)
