We are hiring a Business Development Manager for a high-growth Automotive / EV organization. This role is focused on new business acquisition (hunting), developing strategic client relationships, and expanding the company’s presence among EV OEMs, automotive manufacturers, and enterprise clients.
The role demands hands-on experience in hardware/electronic product sales within the EV ecosystem, strong client engagement capabilities, and the ability to convert leads into long-term business partnerships. Once accounts mature, they will be transitioned to Key Account Managers for long-term management.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within EV startups, EV OEMs, and automotive manufacturers
Generate leads through market research, networking, cold outreach, referrals, and industry events
Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline aligned with revenue targets
Initiate and manage relationships with CXOs, procurement heads, engineering teams, and decision-makers
Understand client requirements and position suitable hardware/electronic EV solutions
Conduct client meetings, presentations, product demos, and commercial discussions
Negotiate contracts and close new business opportunities
Develop a deep understanding of the EV and automotive ecosystem, including customer pain points
Identify growth opportunities within new and early-stage accounts
Collaborate with internal teams to customize solutions based on client needs
Expand account value through strategic engagement before transitioning to KAMs
Own and manage the sales pipeline end-to-end
Track opportunities, conversion rates, and revenue forecasts
Maintain accurate records in CRM systems and share regular updates with leadership
Ensure smooth handover of matured accounts to Key Account Managers
Share complete client background, commercial details, and growth roadmap
Work closely with product, operations, and delivery teams to ensure successful onboarding
Track industry trends, competitor offerings, pricing models, and market developments
Identify emerging opportunities in the EV and automotive hardware space
Provide insights to leadership for strategic planning and product positioning
3–6 years of experience in Business Development / Sales / Account Management
Experience working with EV companies, EV startups, or EV OEMs
Proven experience in hardware / electronic product sales
Hands-on experience selling EV products to automotive OEMs such as Bajaj, Mahindra, or similar EV clients
Strong track record of achieving sales targets and new business acquisition
