Tech Support Specialist

Role Overview
We are looking for a practical, customer-focused Tech Support Specialist to support our clients and internal team with hardware preparation, basic troubleshooting, and day-to-day technical queries.
You’ll be preparing screens, media players, Android devices, and digital signage equipment before deployment, as well as providing first-line support to customers. This is a hands-on role suited to someone comfortable with technology, problem-solving, and working in a fast-moving environment. Providing tech support to our clients via phone, remote access and in person.
Key ResponsibilitiesScreen & Device Preparation
- Configure and prepare digital signage screens, kiosks, media players, and Android devices before installation.
- Install required apps, apply updates, and complete Wi-Fi/ethernet setup.
- Run basic tests on hardware to ensure quality and functionality.
- Label, package, and document prepared devices for dispatch.
Technical Support
- Provide first-line customer support by phone, email, and remote tools.
- Troubleshoot issues with Android devices, digital signage, software players, and network connectivity.
- Escalate complex issues to senior technicians when needed.
- Maintain accurate support logs and case notes.
Operational Support
- Work closely with the installations team to ensure equipment is ready on time.
- Assist with setup of demo units in-house.
- Coordinate with the Stores Coordinator for stock required for technical tasks.
Systems & Documentation
- Keep internal documentation up to date (setup instructions, checklists, FAQs).
- Log device serial numbers and configuration details into the management system.
Continuous Improvement
- Suggest improvements to setup workflows and support processes.
- Help test new apps, features, and hardware before customer deployment.
Health & Safety
- Ensure safe handling of equipment and follow company policies.
Skills & Requirements
- Experience with Android devices, basic IT support (helpdesk experience a bonus).
- Good understanding of Wi-Fi, network basics, and troubleshooting.
- Comfortable solving problems calmly and logically.
- Strong communication skills and customer-friendly attitude.
- Ability to follow processes and maintain accurate records.
- Full driving licence an advantage.
