Summary of the Position: Tishman Speyer is seeking to hire an Engineering Trainee to join our team at our 10 & 30 South Wacker, Illinois property. The Engineering Trainee will assist the Operating Engineer in operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment on all systems. The Apprentice Engineer is expected to demonstrate some technical skills in one craft area (e.g., Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, and Central Plant Operations) and possess mechanical aptitude. Engineering is responsible for maintaining health and safety standards while creating a welcoming environment for our customers (tenants), visitors, and the community. Key Responsibilities:* Under the direction and supervision of an Operating Engineer: + Maintain, repair and ensure the efficient operation of all building systems including but not limited to mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, controls) electrical (lighting, generators), fire/life safety, and hot water systems. + Monitor operation, adjust, and maintain refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment and ventilating and hot water heaters, pumps, valves, piping and filters.

Education/Experience & Certifications/Licenses:* High school diploma or state equivalent.
Physical Requirements:* Ability to travel between floors and buildings including frequent walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, stooping, and working/extending overhead indoors and outdoors with varying temperature ranges from 0 – 100+.
The base compensation for this role is $18.25 per hour. This role is also eligible for access to comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance and 401(k) plan afforded to members of IUOE Local 399, as well as all other benefits afforded to Tishman Speyer employees per the BOMA - IUOE Local 399 agreement. This base range reflects a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skill sets, and/or licensure required of an individual in this particular role. The base range is also specific to members of Tishman Speyer’s Chicago team, as we’ve considered factors specific to this geography.
