Role Overview
The Director of Marketing leads the firm’s marketing strategy and execution across brand, content, digital campaigns, and business development initiatives. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role works closely with executive leadership to support recruiting growth, market positioning, and visibility across the legal industry. This position may be remote or based in our Los Angeles office.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner directly with the CEO and senior leadership to set marketing priorities, messaging, and strategic initiatives
- Own and execute firmwide marketing strategy across newsletters, email campaigns, social media, website, and branded content
- Lead content creation including monthly newsletters, articles, thought leadership pieces, and executive communications
- Manage LinkedIn strategy for the firm and affiliated brands, including post creation, campaigns, testing, and engagement analysis
- Build and manage email campaigns using platforms such as Mailchimp and Constant Contact, including list management, testing, and optimization
- Oversee website updates and content management, including SEO improvements, bio updates, article formatting, and category organization
- Develop and maintain marketing collateral such as one pagers, presentations, sponsorship materials, and recruiting assets
- Manage corporate gifting initiatives for candidates, clients, and employees, including vendor relationships and logistics
- Coordinate and manage external vendors and freelancers including designers, writers, and video production partners
- Support recruiting and business development efforts through targeted campaigns, role marketing, and promotional content
- Track and report on marketing performance, engagement trends, and campaign results
- Maintain organization and visibility of marketing initiatives through tools such as Notion and shared content calendars
- Collaborate cross functionally with recruiting, operations, and leadership teams
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in marketing, brand, content, or communications roles
- Experience working directly with executive leadership in a high autonomy environment
- Strong writing and editing skills with experience producing long form and short form content
- Hands on experience with email marketing platforms, CMS systems, and social media tools
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Experience managing external vendors and freelancers
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable operating independently and owning projects end to end
Preferred Experience
- Professional services, legal, or recruiting industry experience
- Familiarity with SEO and website optimization
- Experience with Canva, WordPress, and marketing automation tools
- Experience supporting business development or recruiting driven growth initiatives
