Director of Email & Lifecycle Marketing
Plant A Insights Group is seeking an experienced, strategic
Director of Email & Lifecycle Marketing
to lead and scale our email, lifecycle, and B2B outreach efforts. This role owns end-to-end email strategy—from transactional and lifecycle systems to growth campaigns and B2B lead generation—ensuring best-in-class deliverability, performance, and customer experience.
You will partner closely with executive leadership, Sales, Product, and Marketing teams to design and execute sophisticated campaign strategies that drive pipeline growth, conversion, retention, and long-term customer value. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who combines technical depth with strategic vision, stays current with modern email and CRM best practices, and enjoys building scalable systems.
ResponsibilitiesEmail, Lifecycle & Transactional Systems
- Own the strategy, architecture, and execution of all email marketing initiatives, including
transactional, lifecycle, and campaign-based email programs
across B2B audiences.
- Lead the setup, optimization, and ongoing management of
transactional B2B email systems
, ensuring reliability, compliance, deliverability, and performance at scale.
- Manage and optimize ESP infrastructure, including
SendGrid and other enterprise ESPs
, as well as CRM integrations with
Zoho CRM
.
- Establish and enforce email best practices around authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), list hygiene, deliverability monitoring, and compliance.
Campaign Strategy & Planning
- Develop comprehensive
campaign planning frameworks
that align email, CRM, content, and revenue objectives.
- Design and oversee lifecycle journeys, automated workflows, and one-off campaigns supporting lead acquisition, onboarding, engagement, and retention.
- Lead advanced segmentation, personalization, and dynamic content strategies across prospect and client cohorts.
- Drive continuous optimization through structured testing (A/B and multivariate), experimentation, and performance analysis.
B2B Marketing, Lead Research & Generation
- Partner with executive leadership to define and execute
B2B outreach and lead-generation strategies
, including prospect research, targeting, and nurture programs.
- Oversee lead research, enrichment, and qualification processes to support sales, partnerships, and advisory initiatives.
- Build and manage B2B lifecycle flows optimized for education, qualification, conversion, and pipeline acceleration.
- Collaborate closely with Sales to ensure CRM data integrity, attribution clarity, and funnel alignment.
Analytics, Reporting & Optimization
- Define success metrics and KPIs across email, lifecycle, and B2B initiatives, including engagement, conversion, pipeline contribution, and deliverability.
- Deliver clear, actionable insights and recommendations to leadership based on performance trends and experimentation results.
- Stay current with
state-of-the-art email, CRM, lifecycle, and B2B marketing practices
, tools, and regulatory considerations, and proactively apply them to Plant A Insights Group’s strategy.
Qualifications
- 7+ years
of progressive experience in email marketing, lifecycle marketing, CRM, or growth marketing, with ownership of complex, B2B-focused programs.
- Deep experience with
Zoho CRM
and enterprise ESPs such as
SendGrid
(or comparable platforms).
- Proven track record building and managing
transactional and B2B email systems
at scale.
- Strong
campaign strategy and planning
expertise, with a clear connection between execution and business outcomes.
- Hands-on experience with
lead research, prospecting, and lead-generation programs
in B2B environments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into strategic direction.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional, insight-driven tone.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with executive leadership, Sales, Product, and Marketing teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience welcomed.
- Experience in research, analytics, consulting, or insights-driven organizations is a plus.
