As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a high-impact team focused on data and machine learning platforms, supporting two pods and managing talented engineers. This role is pivotal in shaping product architecture, driving technical reviews, and fostering a collaborative environment. We seek a leader passionate about cloud innovation, who thrives on solving complex challenges and empowering teams to deliver customer-centric solutions. Job Description What you’ll do Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers across two pods, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence. Drive the design, architecture, and technical vision for scalable machine learning platform and end-end ML lifecycle management, ensuring best practices and high-quality outcomes. Collaborate closely with product, design, and operations teams to deliver scalable SaaS solutions that align with Guidewire’s mission and customer needs. Champion the adoption of AI, cloud, and data platform capabilities, embedding GenAI and automation into daily operations and product offerings. Guide the team through complex problem-solving, technical challenges, and cross-functional initiatives, ensuring timely and impactful delivery. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide career development coaching.
What you’ll bring
Required: Deep experience in ML Platform engineering and MLOps tools (Kubeflow, MLflow, Sagemaker) Deep understanding of cloud-based product development and SaaS architectures 12+ years of experience with minimum 3 years of technical leadership and team management abilities Experience managing and developing engineering teams, with strong ability to drive results and foster collaboration. Strong skills in design and architecture reviews, with the ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience in the insurance technology domain or with large-scale enterprise SaaS products. Familiarity with GenAI, automation, and cloud-native development best practices.
