Responsible for directly managing the assigned account (The Home Depot), driving sales growth, and maintaining strong customer relationships. Serves as primary contact for assigned Home Depot Department, ensures service excellence, and works with the Director to set and achieve annual sales and profit goals.
Essential Job Functions:
- Drive profitable sales growth by identifying new opportunities and continuing to drive upsell and cross-sell opportunities at The Home Depot
- Cultivates and maintains relationships across all customer organization levels.
- Develops and executes strategies, account plans, and product selections.
- Manages product launches and program performance across categories.
- Collaborate with customer to plan annual reviews and establish optimized product mixes.
- Leads business planning efforts, ensuring alignment with customer goals.
- Attends and actively participates in customer meetings and trainings.
- Provides field insights through store visits to inform customer strategies.
- Ensures accuracy in forecasts through collaboration with internal and customer forecasting teams.
- Resolves excess and discontinued product challenges, maintaining inventory efficiency.
- Coordinates closely with support departments (Sales, Marketing, Logistics) to meet customer expectations.
- Conducts market research to stay informed on industry trends.
- Submits timely reports and analysis to Senior Management.
- Manages assigned budgets effectively.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and professional with limited supervision.
- Effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills.
- Expertise in POS, Inventory Planning & Replenishment (IPR), SKU rationalization, and promotional planning.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to facilitate meetings and lead cross-functional teams.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (MBA preferred).
- 2–4 years of experience in account management, preferably in retail or home improvement sectors.
- Travel required (~10%-20%).
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must be based in the Atlanta area or within proximity.
- Preferred experience in watering and irrigation.
