About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team remotely, with a strong preference for candidates based in Austin, TX, and exceptional candidates in Europe. This senior, ownership-driven role involves building and maintaining next-generation autonomous trading infrastructure that supports high-throughput, real-time crypto trading operations. You will be responsible for designing low-latency trading systems, developing wallet and execution infrastructure capable of performing under extreme volatility, and integrating AI-driven layers to enhance trading outcomes. This role demands a deep understanding of distributed systems, performance optimization, and reliability, with hands-on experience in crypto wallets, tokens, or trading systems. As a key contributor, you will influence architectural decisions, lead complex projects from conception to production, and ensure the robustness and resilience of critical financial systems. The role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of crypto, trading infrastructure, and applied AI, contributing to frontier-level technological advancements in the industry.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with crypto wallets, tokens, and trading systems
Deep production experience with Golang, Node.js, and TypeScript
Strong understanding of distributed systems, performance, and reliability
Experience working with trading APIs, execution flows, and transaction lifecycles
Proven ability to lead end-to-end development of complex backend systems
Experience operating and maintaining production systems, including monitoring and incident response
Familiarity with AI tooling and integration in software development
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills in ambiguous environments
Crypto-native experience, including building or operating trading platforms or wallets

Own and develop business-critical backend systems that support high-throughput, real-time crypto trading
Design and implement low-latency trading infrastructure to operate under extreme market volatility
