About The Role
The Human Resources Specialist at Orkin provides vital administrative and operational support to the Division HR leadership team and teammates across various locations. Serving as a primary contact for routine HR inquiries, this role ensures seamless communication regarding policies, benefits, employment programs, and compliance standards. The HR Specialist plays a pivotal role in maintaining data integrity, supporting onboarding and leave administration processes, and assisting with HR reporting and analytics. This position requires a professional with a high level of discretion, empathy, and organizational skills, capable of fostering a positive and compliant workplace culture aligned with Orkin and Rollins' core values. Candidates located in surrounding states may also be considered, with up to 20% annual travel expected for meetings, training, and other business needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an HR Assistant, HR Coordinator, or similar support role
- Experience in service-driven or field-based organizations preferred
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR compliance requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and work independently with minimal supervision
- Adaptability to changing priorities in a hybrid or remote work environment
Responsibilities
- Maintain strict confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive employee and business information
- Serve as a primary point of contact for teammates regarding HR policies, programs, and procedures; respond to inquiries or escalate issues as necessary
- Assist with onboarding processes, including rehire eligibility verification, orientation coordination, and benefits enrollment reminders
- Support HR reporting and data preparation, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports related to compensation, benefits, employee relations, and metrics
- Analyze HR data to identify trends and provide actionable insights to HR and business leaders
- Conduct routine audits of employee data to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Administer leave of absence processes in coordination with HR and operations leadership
- Prepare and distribute employment status notifications such as job abandonment, employment status changes, and leave-related notices
- Support relocation request initiation and tracking for employees
- Coordinate the collection and delivery of documentation requested by legal or internal partners
- Manage and triage HR-related communications received via email, phone, or digital platforms, ensuring timely follow-up
- Actively listen to teammate concerns and provide guidance or support within authorized scope
- Maintain accurate HR records, files, and documentation in compliance with company policies and legal standards
- Provide feedback and recommendations to improve HR processes and identify opportunities for efficiency
- Provide backup administrative support to HR leaders as needed
- Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned by HR leadership
