Position: Operations & Events Manager
For: Maui Hotel & Lodging Association (MHLA)
Reports to: MHLA Executive Director & Deputy Director
Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000

Primary Responsibilities:
To manage the operating and office needs of Maui Hotel & Lodging Association by:
- Maintaining bookkeeping records, give quarterly reports to the MHLA Treasurer
- Managing accounts receivables and accounts payable
- Working with company CPA to complete necessary taxes/reports
- Maintaining the office space, materials and association property
- Managing communications received from main company phone line, main company email and physical mailbox
- Representing appropriate industry involvement in the Maui community
- Maintaining communication with members
- Supporting the Deputy Director in reviewing the weekly newsletters before publications
- Supplying updated membership contacts/information to ED, DD and BOD
Secondary Responsibilities:
To assist in event execution including but not limited to the (4) fundraising events, (4) quarterly mixers and (1) annual membership event.
1. Attendance and support of all MHLA hosted events including:
- (12) Monthly MHLA BOD Meetings
- (4) Fundraising/Giveback Events: Maui Charity Walk, Excellence in Education Golf Tournament, Rice for the Holidays, Na Kupuna Appreciation Event
- (4) Membership Mixer Events, one each quarter of the year
- (1) Annual Membership Meeting & Trade Show Event and related meetings
2. Maintaining communication with event attendees/interest
3. Supporting DD with HIFF/HLTA to manage Charity Walk funds & Givesmart
Expectations & Requirements:
This is a full-time position, Monday – Friday with the majority of work taking place at the Wailuku office. Some work events will take place outside of the standard business-day work hours. Must have reliable transportation.
Must be familiar with:
- QuickBooks (preferably online)
- Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook & Teams
- Dropbox
- Adobe PDF
- Bookkeeping/financial records (proven past success)
- English language and grammar
Preferred experience:
- Some college/business related certification
- Maui residency for at least (1) year
- Stripe transaction online software
- Jotform
- Golf Status
- Givesmart fundraising platform
- Ring Central
- Event planning/coordination
- Maui County visitor industry experience
- ADP Payroll
