Overview
The Data Center Technician S3 is responsible for maintaining server hardware, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring operational excellence across data center environments.
This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hardware diagnostics and resolve component/system-level failures.
- Assist with failure analysis and root cause investigations for field issues.
- Monitor server fleet health, identify emerging trends, and ensure SLA compliance.
- Administer diagnostic tools, perform firmware updates, and validate system integrity.
- Provide real-time support during new deployments and resolve issues promptly.
- Manage Windows Server OS and WinPE environments; Linux PXE experience is a plus.
- Develop and maintain basic scripts for automation and troubleshooting.
- Troubleshoot network issues across Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3.
- Configure and manage virtual machines and related environments.
- Collaborate effectively with local and remote teams while working independently.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a Data Center Technician.
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience (preferred).
- Certifications: CompTIA A+ (preferred) or equivalent experience
- CCNA (preferred) or equivalent experience
- Scripting experience in PowerShell, Python, or Bash (preferred) or equivalent experience
- Valid driver’s license (preferred).
· English communication, both written and verbal + Tamil
Role Details
- Work Schedule: Standard 40 hours per week; flexibility for overtime or on-call support. Currently, no shift work is required, but this may change based on client requirements.
- Location: On-site at designated data center facility.
- Travel: Minimal; occasional domestic travel to other data center locations may be required.
- Reporting: Reports to Supervisor lead in the region.
- Work Environment: Climate-controlled data centers
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 16 kg (35 lbs) safely.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to climb ladders and wear PPE when required.
