The Opportunity
In your role as a Senior Technical Writer, you will provide writing, editing, and formatting services for assigned AppLogic Networks products, regardless of the intended audience. As an individual contributor, you will write documents following style guides, documentation plans, and produce deliverables that contribute to successful project completion, with minimum supervision.
You will ensure that quality content is available to our target audiences while adhering to content best practices, corporate policies, and generally recognized knowledge management principles. This role is critical to the success of our customers who install, configure, and use AppLogic Networks products.
The Job
- Work as part of cross-functional teams to develop content for hardware and software releases
- Research, develop, and write content for web-based manuals, documentation, and supporting materials for software, hardware, technical procedures, product online-help, and computer-related services.
- Gather and research technical information, including engineering and development information, for use in documentation activities.
- Interview engineers, developers, and other technical personnel to become familiar with product technology and development methods.
- Prepare written documents following standard guideline for technical publications and test that documentation against the appropriate product while coordinating testing results with developers and Engineers.
- Represent the interests and strategic plans of the Documentation Team.
- Drive innovation and content quality with stakeholders and customers.
- Contribute to standards, conventions and processes as required.
- Coordinate the production of graphics to produce documentation.
- Review, edit, and proofread materials written by others.
- Review and test software and hardware for accuracy and consistency with documentation, identifying problems and suggesting revisions.
- Log technical and usability issues into the corporate defect tracking system.
What skills you bring
- Education and/or Experience—Bachelor's degree (B. A./B.Sc./B.Tech) from four-year college and 4+ years of experience in technical documentation with in IT (Experience with computer networking or telecom software development is a definite asset.)

- Language Skills—Fluent in English. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write Installation, Operation, and Troubleshooting manuals using XML/DITA. Experienced documenting SDK, networking protocols with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, directors, and executives.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of XML/DITA authoring tools, MS Office, Oxygen, GIT or a similar CMS, and graphics applications.
