About the Opportunity:
This role is scoped at the Senior or Staff level depending on experience, impact, and ownership. The organization seeks a UX Researcher to lead discovery and product definition for complex, high-impact product areas. The role involves using user insights, data, and systems thinking to define product strategy, clarify requirements, and guide teams towards effective solutions. The position requires significant ownership of product direction, including discovery efforts, problem framing, defining success metrics, and translating insights into product scope and specifications. Collaboration with engineering and design is key to balancing user needs, technical constraints, and business goals for scalable solutions used daily by veterinary professionals.
Responsibilities:
• Own discovery, research, and problem definition for assigned product areas
• Identify high-impact opportunities and shape product direction
• Partner with product and engineering to define strategy, scope, and success metrics
• Lead mixed-methods research including interviews, usability testing, surveys, behavioral analysis, and post-launch validation
• Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data into product recommendations and priorities
• Translate insights into product requirements, user flows, wireframes, interaction models, and acceptance criteria
• Drive alignment across design, engineering, and stakeholders by articulating problems, rationale, and solutions
• Use analytics, experimentation, and qualitative signals to evaluate outcomes and guide iterations
• Balance user experience, technical feasibility, and delivery considerations
• Contribute to evolving discovery, research practices, and documentation as the organization scales
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in UX, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Computer Science, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in UX research, product design, product discovery, or related role
• Demonstrated ownership of problem definition and solution direction for complex software products
• Strong ability to synthesize qualitative research, quantitative data, and business context into product recommendations
• Proven experience translating insights into product requirements, user flows, wireframes, and detailed specifications
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and driving clarity across stakeholders and constraints
• Technical fluency and experience collaborating with engineering on design, feasibility, and tradeoffs
• Experience using product analytics, experimentation, and behavioral data to evaluate and inform iteration
• Excellent communication skills to articulate decisions, rationale, and tradeoffs across teams
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple concurrent initiatives with ownership
• Experience with tools such as Figma, Posthog, FullStory, or similar platforms

Compensation:
• Base pay range across the U.S.: $90,000/year to $180,000/year plus bonus, equity, and benefits
• Colorado salary range: $100,000 to $135,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits
• Actual compensation varies based on skills, qualifications, and experience
• Range reflects base hourly or annual compensation and excludes bonus, equity, or other incentives
