Your Impact

As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing a suite of critical web-based applications and tools that enable content management, translation, and workflow automation across Cisco’s digital platforms. You will work with technologies including Angular, Java, Oracle DB, and REST APIs, ensuring seamless integration, robust data flow, and secure authentication between internal systems and third-party platforms like Khoros (TZ). Your responsibilities will span application support, process optimization, and virtual machine (VM) management for the following solutions:

• Develops software consistent with Cisco Design Thinking Principles with a focus on simplification and UX (User Experience) at its core, using secure coding practices, ensuring user privacy, and following software development best practices.
• Partners with other teams including design and product management to create the right solution for customers.
• Creates technical design documentation to be used by the team, as well as contributing to user documentation.
• Debugs and addresses software issues during development and in production systems to support users.
• Brings new ideas for product innovation and helps improve software development processes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience integrating with community platform APIs or content management platforms, as well as Oracle DB or other relational databases
• Experience developing and supporting web applications using Java and Angular
• Proficiency working with REST APIs (including authentication methods such as Basic Auth and SSO cookies)
• Understanding of web-based application architectures
• Experience with virtual machine (VM) management and basic system administration tasks

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with content publishing workflows and translation automation tools
• Familiarity with AEM (Adobe Experience Manager)
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for VM provisioning and management
• Experience working in agile/scrum teams and using related tools (Jira, Confluence)
• A foundational understanding of AI and machine learning concepts, algorithms, and models is preferred.
