Test Automation Engineer

Summary Our client is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to support the modernization of their Licensing application. This role requires understanding and interpreting complex state insurance business rules and then translating them into effective automated test coverage within existing automation frameworks. This engineer will focus on UI and API automation while working closely with QA, development, and product teams in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases for UI and APIs.
• Implement test cases within existing automation frameworks and enhance capabilities as required.
• Develop automated UI tests using Cypress and Selenium.
• Create and maintain API automation tests using Cucumber with Karate and/or REST-Assured.
• Translate complex business and regulatory requirements into effective test scenarios.

Requirements

• 3+ years of Quality Assurance experience with test automation.
• Hands-on experience with at least one automation tool (Cypress, Selenium, REST-Assured).
• Experience applying BDD practices using the Cucumber Framework.
• Strong programming skills in Java or other JVM-based languages and JavaScript.
• Professional production experience using Git and version control tools.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred

• Performance testing experience using JMeter and/or BlazeMeter.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or other Cloud technologies.
• Experience in testing highly regulated or rules-driven applications.
• Strong SQL skills including query writing and data validation.

This is a 6-12-month Contract-for-Hire opportunity with our Kansas City, MO client.
