About Our Client
Our client is a healthcare technology company modernizing prior authorization and utilization management workflows that remain heavily manual and error-prone. They’re building a platform where engineering decisions directly impact speed, accuracy, and trust in a regulated, high-stakes environment.
The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to define, build, and own the company’s automated quality strategy. This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who wants to establish foundational testing architecture, influence how software is built and released, and act as a technical authority on quality across the platform.
You’ll be responsible for creating the automation foundation and ensuring quality scales as the product, team, and complexity grow.
What You’ll Do
- Architect and own a Playwright-based automation framework using TypeScript / JavaScript, setting standards and patterns for long-term maintainability
- Define cross-browser and cross-environment test strategies (Chromium, Firefox, WebKit)
- Embed automated quality gates into Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines
- Establish debugging and observability practices using Playwright traces, screenshots, and video
- Drive automated coverage for complex, high-risk workflows and API-level testing
- Define test data, mocking, and stubbing strategies to ensure reliability and eliminate flakiness (no PHI)
- Lead assessment and migration of legacy automation (e.g., WebdriverIO)
- Partner with engineering and product leadership to raise the bar on release readiness and system correctness
What We’re Looking For
- 5–8 years of QA experience with at least 2 years building and maintaining automated test frameworks
- Proven experience establishing or significantly evolving automation frameworks, not just extending existing ones
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript / JavaScript
- Hands-on experience with Playwright or modern JS-based automation frameworks
- Experience integrating automation into CI/CD environments (Jenkins preferred)
- Strong API testing fundamentals and understanding of end-to-end system behavior
- Comfort operating with autonomy and influencing quality practices in an early-stage environment
Why This Role
This role offers the opportunity to set the quality foundation for a critical healthcare platform, not inherit one. You’ll have meaningful ownership, technical influence, and visibility as the system scales—while working on problems where correctness and trust are non-negotiable.
