Senior Qa Automation Engineer

We are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer with a strong engineering mindset who can drive both manual and automation strategies and ensure high product quality across Mobile, Web, and API platforms. You will play a key role in building scalable automation solutions, improving test reliability, and embedding quality into the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Understand user stories, use cases, and requirements to define comprehensive test strategies
• Develop reliable, maintainable automated test suites for functional, regression, smoke, and E2E testing
• Design, develop, and maintain automation test frameworks and test suites
• Write, execute, and maintain automated and manual functional, regression, and smoke test cases
• Identify, log, track, and verify software defects, and drive them to closure
• Work closely with developers to reproduce, debug, and resolve issues efficiently
• Analyze test results for data integrity, errors, performance issues, and usability gaps
• Apply risk-based testing and maintain traceability matrices to ensure maximum test coverage
• Integrate automation tests into CI/CD pipelines and release workflows
• Participate in requirement, design, and code reviews to ensure quality is built in early
• Mentor junior QA engineers and provide technical guidance
• Ensure QA processes, standards, and best practices are consistently followed
• Provide release sign-off, test reports, and documentation as required

Technical Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in QA Automation / SDET roles
• Strong hands-on experience with automation tools:

• Appium (Android & iOS)
• Playwright / Selenium / Cypress (Web)

• Proficiency in at least one programming language:

• Java / Python / JavaScript / TypeScript

• Strong experience in:

• API automation testing (REST, JSON, Postman, RestAssured, etc.)
• Test framework design and architecture

• Solid understanding of:

• STLC, defect life cycle, and test strategy design
• Agile/Scrum development practices

• Experience with:

• CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.)
• Version control systems (Git)

• Hands-on experience with bug tracking tools like JIRA

• Ability to debug issues across UI, API, and backend layers

• Proficiency in at least one programming language: Java / Python / JavaScript / TypeScript

• Strong knowledge of software testing concepts, STLC, and defect life cycle

• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools such as JIRA

• Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies

• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills

• Ability to take ownership and work independently in a startup environment

Good to Have (Big Plus)

• Experience with cloud device farms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, LambdaTest)
• Exposure to performance testing (JMeter, k6)
• Basic knowledge of security testing concepts
• Experience working on high-scale consumer or media/content applications
• Familiarity with Docker, test environments, or DevOps practices
