About the Opportunity:
Seeking a self-starting, responsible, action-oriented, and highly motivated Senior Security Researcher for the Counter Adversary Operations team. The role involves collecting and analyzing data from the cybercriminal underground to protect customers’ security and privacy. Candidates should be OPSEC-savvy, detail-oriented problem solvers with a technical foundation and experience in cyber threat intelligence.
Responsibilities:
• Complete technical collection projects including acquisition, monitoring, and analysis of deep and dark web data
• Develop scrapers and scripts for websites, APIs, and databases to collect and ingest data
• Build, deploy, and maintain tools and services using Docker, Git, and automated pipelines
• Investigate logs, identify and fix code issues to ensure collection tools adapt to evolving threats
• Employ secure operational tradecraft methods and practices
• Conduct proactive research on underground cybercriminal economies and emerging technology abuses
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders on the global Counter Adversary Operations team
Requirements:
• Professional experience in cyber threat intelligence, open source intelligence, or information security
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, with experience in data extraction, webscraping, and databases
• Familiarity with Docker, Git, HTTP, HTML, and JavaScript
• Experience with logging tools like Splunk or Logscale
• Knowledge of Python data tools such as pandas, requests, SQL, beautifulsoup
• Ability to interact with RESTful and other APIs for data retrieval and tool development
• Confidence navigating large datasets and using statistical methods for exploratory data analysis
• Practical knowledge of operational security (OPSEC) principles and best practices
• Ability to work remotely and collaboratively across time zones
Preferred:
• Additional language skills (e.g., Russian, Mandarin, Korean, Spanish, Farsi, Arabic, Japanese, French, Hindi, Urdu)
• Prior experience in intelligence community or cyber threat intelligence
• Engagement in security communities, academic research, CTFs, or open source software contributions
• Interest or experience with machine learning, generative AI, and large language models for workflow automation and data analysis
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent in information security, cybersecurity, computer science, data science, intelligence studies, or related field
• Technical security certifications or research experience
