Responsibilities The Ascension Data Science Institute (ADSI) Internship Program is designed to provide an on-the-job learning opportunity aimed at gaining "real world" work experience in a large healthcare environment, supporting leadership with data driven insights that deliver value to those we serve. Ascension’s objective is to provide a working and learning environment where interns can develop the skills and competencies necessary to grow into successful professionals and potential Ascension associates.

This is a great opportunity to learn from and work with our Data Science team within ADSI! We are looking for someone who can work with a team and also independently on projects.

Design and construct new prototypes using algorithms, predictive models, and custom analysis.

• Work with department leaders and team mentors to develop project plans and timelines.
• Gain experience manipulating and validating data from multiple sources.
• Analyze data bringing your own curiosity and expertise to meet project objectives and deliver additional insights.
• Present final project to team members, data science leadership and potentially clinical stakeholders.
• Gain hands-on experience working in Google Cloud Platform, Python or other preferred analytic tool.

Requirements Education:

• High school diploma equivalency OR Enrolled in accredited program specific to discipline required.

Additional Preferences

• Strong technical skills, specifically in writing queries, manipulating data and visualizing data.
• Demonstrated ability to find patterns and provide insights in underlying data.
• Deals well with ambiguity and “start-up” environments.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, Python) and database languages (e.g., SQL).
